When: Saturday, February 27 at 10 a.m. We will begin promptly at 10 a.m., so please arrive early to prepare.

Where: Boiling Springs First Baptist Church parking lot (3600 Boiling Springs Rd, 29316). From I-85, take Exit 75 towards Boiling Springs and the church is on the right about 3 miles later. Please park on the side near the car wash and away from the church.

Pace/Time: 61 miles and 3900 feet of climb! This route heads out to Tryon where we’ll climb Hogback Mt (5 miles and 1500’ of climb), then work our way back to the start thru Gowensville – Inman (including Windmill Hill). We will do the usual steady moderate Saturday eRide pace between climbs, which with the terrain we should be in the 17-18 mph average speed range. The Hogback climb will be at your own pace with a regroup at the top before descending back down. Please keep in mind that a lot of people live on Hogback, so watch for people walking, backing out of driveways, animals, etc. on the descent. Figure a total ride time of about 4 hours including a store stop in Landrum.

**There will also be a B group led by Paul White. He plans to ride in the 15-16 mph range along the same route**

Store stop: One stop around the 40 mile mark in Gowensville

SAG: None planned at this time. Please come prepared to be self-sufficient and bring equipment to change a flat, cell phone, cue sheet, etc.

More info: The rides will be what we consider A / B level rides. In general, we will ride at a steady moderate pace between climbs with the climbs at your own pace. We will regroup at the top of climbs before proceeding. If you are unsure about your ability to do a particular ride, please contact us before the ride. We try to help everyone, but if you are obviously having trouble maintaining contact with the group, we will recommend you turn back or proceed on your own. There are sometimes sections during a ride where the group tends to string out before regrouping. Please be patient during these sections as we will regroup at the usual spots. If you get behind, just stay straight to the regroup point.
Try to remember that these are group rides, and we often have to adjust to changing circumstances so everything may not happen exactly as planned or as you would like. If you come looking for some training and a fun social atmosphere with friends, then you should leave happy and tired at the end of the ride. Helmets required.
