IMPORTANT ROUTE INFORMATION All roads on the course are OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. There will be police/monitors at intersections but it is imperative that riders respect all road users and place the highest priority on safety. Ultimately the safety of the ride depends on the behavior of the riders themselves. Please review the attached safety guide and don’t forget a headlight (needed for tunnels)!
2018 COURSE MARKING TO FOLLOW
Quick Links Information about the rides, a spectator’s guide, event policies, FAQ, the Cue Sheet and more are also available on our website. Click here for the Ride with GPS link. Please pay close attention to the event policies as a light is REQUIRED due to unlit tunnels. Many of these policies are dictated to us from the Parkway and Mitchell State Park and riders MUST adhere to them. Please note, while we take as many precautions as possible to ensure your safety on the course, be aware the course is an open road with no road closures only police presence at large intersections and turns. The ride goes through many different areas including residential and state parks so cyclists are exposed to outside elements. Please stay aware of your surroundings.
Packet Pick-up and Expo The Packet Pick-up and Expo will be held Sunday, May 13 from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium (385 North Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303). Packets will also be available on Monday morning between 5:45am-6:15 am. Packets will be organized according to bib number, so please bring this number with you. We will also have a bib list posted in the auditorium in case you have forgotten yours.
You MUST bring a photo ID to retrieve your packet/BIB. As in past years, no one else will be able to pick up your packet for you. If you cannot pick up your packet in person on Sunday, we will have packets/BIB available the morning of the ride from 5:30 to 6:15 a.m.
You MUST sign a 2018 Event Release Form, and you will have the opportunity to purchase an optional $10 one-day event coverage policy from US Cycling. A one-day policy and annual policy offer coverage for the ride, but it is not mandatory.
